Ganjam: To further strengthen the fight against the pandemic, Ganjam district is observing ‘Covid Week’ from September 24 (today) till the 1st of October, 2020. The district administration has planned to carry out extensive awareness campaign during the week.

As per the strategy, the authorities’ focus will be to ensure large-scale Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities on the Covid-19 protocol which is why public participation in large numbers has been requested.

The list of activities planned by the district administration include door to door health screening, awareness rally with social distancing, Covid Sachetana Ratha, special panchasutra enforcement drive, mass sanitation drive, special mask distribution drive, entensive Covid-19 testing campaign, plasma donors identification drive, online Ganjam knowledge hub lecture series, health and nutrition webinars, online competitions for school students, Covid-safe certification of government offices among others.

These activities shall be organized across all blocks and urban local bodies (ULBs).
An oath will also be administered to all the community stakeholders where they will promise to abide by all Covid guidelines, ensure social distancing and mask-wearing and further intensify the ongoing battle against coronavirus so that humans as well as the humanity come out victorious against this Covid pandemic.

CM Naveen also praised the Ganjam administration, doctors, healthcare personnel and the people of the district for changing the scenario from worst-affect hotspot to a model district.

“With slew of measures like door to door surveillance, strengthening of health infra, expedited tracing of new cases, ramping up of testing and creating awareness, the authorities set a precedent in bringing down COVID-19 cases,” stated CM.
