Bhubaneswar: With situation fast slipping out of hands due to the unprecedented surge in Covid-19 cases across the country, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday assured the Centre of providing all cooperation in the ‘War-like situation’.

Patnaik spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over telephone and discussed the Covid situation in the country.

“It is a war like situation and Odisha will extend all cooperation in the fight against Covid at the national level including ramping up oxygen production to assist other states in this emergency situation,” said Patnaik.

The statement of the Chief Minister assumes considerable significance in the backdrop of the acute shortage of oxygen faced by Delhi and many other states in the country at present.

Apart from managing the oxygen requirements in the State, Odisha government has also provided oxygen to Delhi to bail out the Arvind-Kejriwal government from a crisis situation.

CM Kejriwal today lauded the efforts of Odisha government for providing oxygen at a time when several hospitals in the national capital were facing a crisis.

On Thursday a second hospital in the national capital moved the Delhi High Court seeking urgent supply of oxygen.
