Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mass Education Minister Sameer Dash on Sunday said that the department wants to conduct examination of Class IX students. However, a final decision will be taken only after opening of the schools on April 30.

“The curriculum of Class-IX is almost complete. As the schools have been closed till April 30 in view of the resurgence of COVID cases, a decision on the conduct of Class-IX examinations will be taken after reviewing the COVID situation,” said Dash.

Dash further urged the private schools which have not registered under the RTE-Paradarshi portal, to complete necessary formalities to provide admissions to the economically backward students.

“Out of the 4000 schools, almost 500 schools are yet to register on the portal. I request the school managements to register their schools in the portal and the last date has been extended till April 23 from earlier deadline of April 13,” said Dash.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha government on April 7 had announced suspension of classes of Standard IX and XI in all schools across the State amid rising cases of Covid-19. However, the classes of X and XII students will continue till April 25.
