Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday reported nearly 500 new Covid-19 cases taking its overall tally beyond 15000-mark. Similarly, two Covid deaths reported today also took the toll to 79.
As per State Health and Family Welfare Department, as many as 23 districts reported a total of 494 positive cases with Ganjam reporting the maximum of 246 cases alone.

Out of the new cases, 322 have been reported from quarantine centres, while 122 are local contacts, the health department said.
Apart from Ganjam, Khurda has reported 64 cases, Cuttack (38) and Balasore 21 cases.

The number of active cases in the state stands at 4,813, while 10,476 persons have recovered from the disease.

Odisha reported two Covid deaths in last 24 hours with taking states Covid death tally to 79. Both deaths are reported in Ganjam. As per the health department data a 51-year-old male from Ganjam district with morbid obesity and a 34-year-old male from Ganjam with Hypertension died on Wednesday.
Regret to inform the demise of two Covid positive patients of Ganjam district while under treatment in hospitals.
1. A 51-year old Male who was also suffering from morbid obesity.
2. A 34-year old Male who was also suffering from Hypertension.
