Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Television Network Ltd in collaboration with three other voluntary organizations has begun providing relief to Covid hit people in the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Teams of OTV’s Apana Eka Nuhanti and members of voluntary organizations KZSVS and Asha Kiran launched the month-long free food initiative for people in Bhubaneswar from today.

Similarly, volunteers from Cuttack’s Swapno Foundation with assistance from Apana Eka Nuhanti members rolled out the relief distribution programme under OTV Cares initiative in Cuttack.

Large numbers of food packets were delivered at the doorsteps of Covid positive and isolated patients who are unable to avail or cook food for themselves in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Creative Head of OTV Network, Ranjan Satpathy said, “OTV has been able to reach out to countless people across the nook and corner of Odisha to listen to their grief and lend a shoulder to lean in moments of crisis through its Apana Eka Nuhanti programme. During this hour of urgency in the second wave of the pandemic, even though we are away from each other, but we are united by our efforts in fight against the disease. OTV Cares is just one step ahead in our attempt to do good for the society.”

A member of the Swapno Foundation, Barsha Lenka said, “I extend heartfelt gratitude to OTV for coming up with this noble idea to help aggrieved people in this moment of crisis.”

We partnered with Odisha’s largest media house for the OTV Cares initiative and now feeling blessed at having been given such a magnificent opportunity to serve the humanity.

Lenka went on to explain how she has dedicated her own hostel kitchen for the rollout of this initiative.

“I am myself preparing the meals for distribution to the people in my own kitchen by following all necessary Covid appropriate protocols. Our other members are also lending a helping hand in ensuring hygienic, safe food delivery to people free of cost.”

It is worthwhile to mention here that, as the largest media organisation in the State, Odisha Television Network has been performing CSR activities through its exclusive programme, Apana Eka Nuhanti.

Hundreds of neglected Odia people who remain hidden from the eyes of the State machinery have been benefited by the programme which makes sure that the needy people get their share of the numerous Government welfare schemes.
