Bhubaneswar: With Covid-19 cases rising sharply, the Odisha government on Tuesday decided to suspend all Driving License (DL) and Learner’s License tests across the State.

As per a notification issued by the State Transport Authority (STA), all learners’ and driving license tests will remain suspended from April 22, 2021 till further orders to prevent the transmission of the infection in the State.

“The Government of Odisha in Revenue & Disaster Management (Disaster Management) vide its Order No 2057 dated 19.04.2021 and GA Department vide its Order No 11465/GEN dated 15 04 2021 have issued stipulations in the interest of general public and for containment of COVID-19. In view of above, it is ordered that all learner’s license and driving license test are hereby suspended w e.f. 22.04 2021 till further orders,” the notification read.

All RTOs have been asked to reduce the quota per slots / cancel existing slots for all driving related services and VAHAN related services in respective regions taking into account the prevailing COVID situation.

All RTOs will upload information regarding suspension of DL and LL test in the Facebook / twitter accounts for information of public/stakeholders, the notification added.
