Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed the Main Branch of State Bank of India in the city for two days after seven of its employees came out COVID-19 positive on Sunday.

The news came as a shock to many as the Main Branch of the SBI caters to the demands of thousands of its account holders in the City.

Informing the same to OTV, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said, “Seven employees have been tested positive in the first phase of the testing. So we are sealing the branch for two days for necessary sanitisation and contact tracing of the patients.”

“Many other employees of the same branch have undergone tests in the second phase of testing, the result of which is awaited,” said Chaudhary.

In a related development, two passengers have tested positive from Bhubaneswar railway Station for the first time after the resurge of COVID-19 cases in the State.

As per the information provided by Chaudhary, they have been admitted to a COVID hospital. The civic body has been conducting their contact tracing.
