Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 situation in Bhubaneswar is getting worse day by day as there has been a steep rise in positive cases in the past few days. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday decided to close down ICICI bank’s Cuttack Road Branch and sales section (main branch) near Sriya Talkies after 15 cases were detected in the bank's branches.

Apart from the private bank's branches, BMC also sealed the Bhubaneswar Regional Transport Office-I at Acharya Vihar after detection of four COVID-19 positive cases. All the employees of the RTO-1 will be mandatorily quarantined, said a BMC official.

Earlier in the day, BMC had closed Tech Mahindra software Company for violation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) for COVID-19 management. As per BMC officials, seven positive cases were detected from the company within a week.
