Bhubaneswar: The declining trend in the daily Covid-19 cases continues in Odisha as the State registered 343 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The data of Health department reveals Odisha has constantly witnessed less than 500 single-day positives since November 28.

Of the fresh cases, 197 are in quarantine while 146 positives are local contacts. Boudh, Deogarh, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur districts did not see a single positive case in the past 24 hours.

H&FW department informed that 5 patients succumbed to the lethal disease during the period – one death each from Bolangir, Khordha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundergarh districts.

After today’s surge, the total confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in Odisha climbed to 322642. The death toll stands at 1794. While the active caseload is 3383, so far 317412 positive patients have recuperated from the disease.

As per the Health Ministry data shared this morning, 31522 new COVID-19 infections took India's total cases to 97,67,372. With 412 new deaths, the toll has mounted to 1,41,772. Total active cases stood at 3,72,293 while total discharged cases were at 92,53,306 after 37,725 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
