Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 1376 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positives and death toll in the State to 25,389 and 140, respectively.
Highest of 484 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from Ganjam district followed by Khurda (187 cases), Keonjhar (103 cases), Cuttack (75 cases), Gajapati (74 cases) and Sundergarh (33 cases).

As per Health Department, six COVID-19 deaths were reported from Ganjam district, and one each from Gajapati, Sundergarh, Khurda and Bhubaneswar.

Odisha reported highest-ever single-day death toll yesterday after the death of 10 persons due to COVID-19. The 10 COVID-19 deaths were reported from Ganjam (3), Sundergarh (2), Balasore (2) and one each from Gajapati, Jharsuguda and Rayagada districts.
Since July 1, there has been big increase in the COVID-19 cases being reported in Odisha.
For the last five days, the state has been reporting more than 1000 new COVID-19 positive cases every day, and on July 24, the number went up to 1595 which is the highest single-day spike reported so far.
