Bhubaneswar: With detection of 19 more COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, Cuttack district now has the most number of active cases in Odisha.

As per the data of Health and Family Welfare department, Cuttack district now has the highest 176 COVID-19 active cases. The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district is 342 while 165 patients have recovered.

Out of the total 342 COVID-19 positive cases, 24 are from Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits. Of the 24 positive cases registered so far from CMC area, 15 have already recovered while there are only nine active cases. A six-year-old girl, who had a travel history to Mumbai, was also tested positive for COVID-19 today. The girl was under home quarantine after one of her family members had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier.

Apart from Cuttack district, Kandhamal district has 107 active cases, followed by 97 from Khurda, 71 each from Ganjam and Jagatsinghpur districts. As many as 158 active cases are the Covid warriors including doctors, nurses, ODRAF, Fire services and NDRF personnel, who had recently returned from Cyclone Amphan duty in West Bengal.

The total COVID-19 confirmed cases in Odisha reached 4055 on Monday after 146 more persons tested positive in the last 24 hours. Of the total positive cases, 2854 persons have already recovered while the total number of active cases now stands at 1187. The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha is 11.
