Bhubaneswar: The active cases of COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar dropped below 1000 on Wednesday after 142 patients recovered from the viral infection in the last 24 hours.

The capital city registered 75 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 29454.

Out of the 75 cases, 14 were from quarantine centres, while 61 were reported as local contact cases, informed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The total number of recoveries in the city now stands at 28280.

Earlier on Tuesday, 69 new positive cases were reported in Bhubaneswar while 180 had recovered from the disease.
