Bhubaneswar: Odisha capital Bhubaneswar recorded a single-day spike of 321 new positive cases that pushed the city’s case tally to 25,174 on Saturday.

Of the total cases, 238 were identified as local contact cases while the remaining 83 are quarantine cases, informed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The State capital also witnessed recoveries of 331 patients from the disease, taking the total number of cured persons to 21,545.

Currently, the city has 3494 active cases of coronavirus while 114 people have died due to the disease so far.

Earlier in the day, Odisha registered 2854 new cases of COVID-19, raising the virus tally in the State to 249693. Moreover, the death toll in the State breached the 1000-mark with 15 more fatalities in the last 24 hours.
