Bhubaneswar: Ever since WHO announced ‘living with the virus’ as the new normal since the novel-Coronavirus is here to stay, face masks became an integral part of our life. With face mask taking a make-over from health precaution to a daily wear, it has made its way to designer’s book and ethnic lover’s creation.

After some people are seen flaunting masks made of silver, gold and fitted with diamonds and jewels, a senior servitor of Puri Hajuri, Bhimasena Khuntia got inspired to prepare a mask out of coconut shell.

In a bid to encourage handicraft, Khuntia has prepared the specially designed mask which is not only unique and attractive but also comfortable to wear. Khuntia says the hard coconut shell of the mask has two layers cloth underneath and special features for proper aeration.

“I have prepared the mask to encourage craft and the coconut farmers. It is pretty comfortable to wear. Mouth and nose can be totally covered with the mask and it has enough utility to keep the Covid-19 virus at Bay,” Khuntia said with confidence.
