Bhubaneswar: Rich tributes were paid to police personnel who laid their lives in the line of duty during observance of 59th Police Martyr's Day or Police Commemoration Day across Odisha today.

In Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police organised a function which was attended by Additional Police Commissioner Sanjay Singh.

Around 414 police personnel including Sanjay Majhi of Rayagada district were martyred across the country this year.A parade was also organised and floral tributes were paid to the personnel killed while discharging their duties.

The PoliceCommemorationDay is observed every year to honor the supreme devotion in service of nation.

Puri SP Sarthak Sadangi offered floral tributes at the Sahid Stambha and a two-minute prayer was also observed to pray for the departed souls.

In Rourkela, the Sahid Divas was observed at the Reserve Police Line which was attended by DIG (western range) Kabita Jalan.

Among others, Rourkela SP, Government Railway Police (GRP) SP and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

The Sahid Divas or Martyrs' Day was held at the Manoharpur Reserve Police Ground in Bolangir where SP K.Shiva Subramani paid floral tributes.
