Congress to launch ‘Swabhiman Sankalp’ campaign to highlight women issues

Bhubaneswar: In order to highlight the alleged failure of both the State and the Central governments to address various issues of women, the Odisha unit of Mahila Congress will organise a ‘Swabhiman Sankalp Samavesh’ at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar tomorrow.

President of the Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Sumitra Jena informed about the samavesh at a presser yesterday.

The Samavesh will pitch voice against increasing atrocities against women in the State and alleged failure of BJD and BJP governments to bring reservation for women in the State Assembly as well as Parliament.

The Mahila Congress will also press for liquor ban in Odisha and raise various other issues.

Odisha Congress chief Niranjan Patnaik will attend the event as the chief guest. Many leaders and workers of the party from across the State will also participate in the programme.
