Concentrate on game & refrain from politics: Saraswati's advise to sister Dutee Chand

Bhubaneswar: Days after revealing about her same-sex relationship, ace sprinter Dutee Chand today accused her elder sister Saraswati of blackmailing her citing it as the sole reason of her relationship disclosure. However, Saraswati refuted the charges and advised Dutee to concentrate on her game rather than indulging in politics.

During a press meet today, Dutee alleged that her elder sister used to blackmail and threaten her saying she would malign her image. Of the seven members, why only my elder sister and mother have problems with me and others don't," questioned Dutee.

She further said, "As a daughter, I have done my duty and have always stood by my family. I have built a three-storeyed house for them in my village and even gifted a vehicle to my sister."

"I will take legal action against all those who are trying to defame me, even if it's my family or anyone from the public," she added.

Meanwhile responding to Dutee, her elder sister Saraswati Chand said, "Dutee's allegations don't have truth and are completely baseless. Whatever she said during the press meet today were not her words, and she has been instigated by the conspirators. The responsibility of media is to bring out the truth & it has done its job impartially."

I would advice Dutee to concentrate on her game and refrain from politics, Saraswati added.

When Dutee opened up about being in a relationship with a girl, her mother was left shell shocked by the news. “Dutee never shared any details of her earnings, not even about the Rs 3-crore prize money that she received. I was completely shattered when  she asked us to beg after I refused to accept her decision of marrying another girl,” said her mother.

Saraswati also had toed the line of her mother and alleged that there has been a deliberate attempt by her so-called ‘godfather’ & teacher of her educational institution to usurp her prize money.
