Bhubaneswar: The Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate police has been reconstituted months after the suspension of its former chief, Deepak Lenka over allegations of misappropriation of seized narcotics.

Subhendu Sahu, who was posted as a sub-inspector of Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar has been made the new chief of the QAT.

According to sources, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Mangalabag Police Station, Ramakant Pradhan has also been included in the team.

Commissionerate Police informed that very soon six to eight people will become a part of the team.

Earlier on August 17, the entire QAT was dismantled after Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty suspended Lenka.

Lenka was suspended over alleged misconduct in a brown sugar smuggling case along with some other cases. Eight other members of the team were also transferred.
