Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped patients and staff of the Capital Hospital when a three-and-half-feet long spectacled Cobra was found in a special cabin at the Capital Hospital here last evening.

The reptile was first spotted coiling under a table inside cabin number - 2 at the hospital's nursing home but fortunately it did not hurt anyone as there were no patients inside the chamber. After being informed by the staff, a member of the Snake Helpline reached the hospital and rescued the snake.

Even though it is yet to be clear as to how the snake entered the hospital cabin, it is believed that it might have sneaked into the chamber through its window during rainfall yesterday evening.

The recovery of such venomous snake from one of the most crowded hospitals in the State has sparked concerns among the patients and their attendants.
