Cobra Found Inside Parcel Box In Odisha

Mayurbhanj: A cobra was found inside a parcel box in Rairangpur area of Mayurbhanj district on Saturday. As per reports, after receiving a parcel from Vijaywada, an employee of L&T private limited had opened the box to find a snake.

The incident took place in a house taken on rent by L&T private limited at ward no 5 of Rairangpur. The company had recently ordered some goods from Andhra Pradesh which were packed in different boxes and were brought to the address in a truck yesterday.

While unpacking the boxes, employees of the private company found a 3 to 4-ft long cobra from one of the parcels.

Later, the staff immediately informed the Forest department about the incident. “We received some materials from Vijayawada yesterday. We found a cobra in one of the parcel boxes and immediately informed the forest officials who rescued and released it in the forest,” said Mutukumar, an employee of L&T company.

“We rescued the snake from a parcel box which had some home appliances and released it in Kucheibudhi reserve forest,” informed Paramananda Mohanta, Forest Guard, Rairangpur range.
