Bhadrak: At least seven wagons of a goods train derailed near Jijharpur under Tihidi Police limits in Bhadrak district today morning.

According to sources, the coal-laden train was heading towards Dhamra when it derailed around 6.45 am today.

After the incident, two of the seven derailed bogies overturned and the wheels of some bogies were detached. Besides, some portion of the railway track was also damaged in the mishap following which the transportation of coal was disrupted.

Later, Dhamra port and railway authorities rushed to the spot and launched an enquiry into the matter. The railway authorities said efforts were being made to repair the damaged tracks and restore normalcy in movement of trains on the route.
