Cuttack: A coaching centre at Chandi Mandir square in Cuttack was sealed for violation of Covid-19 norms on Thursday. The authorities of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) sealed the coaching centre after finding violation of the existing Covid-19 protocols issued by the Odisha government.

Apart from the coaching centre, a super market was also sealed in Cuttack for gross violation of social distancing norms issued to keep the spread of Covid-19 under check.

The super market (Mela Sale) was operating from Hind Cinema premises at Ranihat. During a surprise raid by a joint enforcement team of Commissionerate Police and CMC, it was found that the necessary social distancing norms were openly flouted at the shopping complex.

Apart from this, the joint enforcement squad also found that the concerned market was overcrowded and it was subsequently sealed.

It is pertinent to mention here that there has been a spurt in Covid-19 cases in several parts of the State. The rise in daily cases has now emerged as a concern with the authorities and officials stressing on strict compliance of the Covid-19 protocols.

CMC Commissioner Ananya Das today took stock of the arrangements made at Cuttack Railway Station for screening the visitors/ returnees from the high-risk states. COVID test of people with ILI and SARI-like symptoms and those returning from the high-risk states is being done at the Railway station.
