Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik continues to lead the rich ministers list in Odisha while State Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena's net worth grew be a whopping 4.5 crore in a single year, a statement of assets of all Cabinet ministers of the State which was issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday stated.

As per the report, Naveen owns assets worth over Rs 64.26 crore which include movable property worth Rs 62, 66,663.93, immovable inherited properties valued at over Rs 63,64,15,261.

Naveen has an Ambassador car of 1980 model that is valued at around Rs 8,905 and he possesses jewellery worth about Rs 2, 12,252.

He has deposits over Rs 40 lakh in two branches of State Bank of India at Hiinjlicut of Ganjam district and Padampur in Bargarh during the general elections last year, added the statement.

The CM has a farm land and building in an area of 22.7 acre at Tikri Khera village of Faridabad valued at Rs 10, 75, 51,071, as per the valuation done in March, 2017.

Similarly, Patnaik owns 50% share of his ancestral property situated at APJ Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi valued at Rs 43, 36, 18,000. Besides, the BJD president owns two-third share of Naveen Niwas worth over Rs 9.52 crore, as on August 18, 2017.

Although the graph of Naveen’s income has considerably increased as compared to last year, the CM has not been able to repay the loan of Rs 15 lakh that he borrowed from his elder sister, Gita Mehta on 9 March, 2015.

Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena's assets have grown around Rs 4.5 crore in a year and he owns property worth Rs 10 crore. It may be noted that Jena and his son’s joint property in March, 2018 valued at 5.38 crore. However, the assets declared by him in March, 2019 do not include his son’s share.

With property worth Rs 26 lakh, Sports and IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera is the poorest among the ministers of the Naveen Patnaik-led Cabinet. Behera owns a land spread across an area of 4,830 square feet at Chandaka in Bhubaneswar, a car worth Rs 5 lakh and 90 grams of gold.

Health Minister Naba Kishore Das is next to CM Naveen in terms of property. He is the only Minister in the State Cabinet who owns two revolvers and a rifle. Das and his family members possess cash worth Rs 32 lakh, Rs 1 crore worth of bank deposits and fixed deposit of over Rs 2 crore.

Similarly, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Arun Kumar Sahoo and his wife own assets worth Rs 67 lakh. The declaration given by him reveals the Minister’s wife possesses more property than him.
