Bhubaneswar: Brace up for a cloudy, wet week ahead as the met department predicts rain in several parts of the State following the formation of a low pressure area (LOPAR) over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast.

The low pressure expected on Saturday will cause moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at a few locations till July 18, the forecast said. This could be followed by the development of another system in the same area within a week, the weathermen predicted.

“Formation of another low pressure is likely on July 19 over the northwest Bay of Bengal which may cause moderate to heavy rainfall at many locations in north Odisha districts up to July 22,” the weather expert, S.C.Sahu said adding that precipitation would be light to moderate in the state’s southern districts.
