Odisha Class IX Girl Jumps Off School Terrace Alleging Harassment

Berhampur: A Class 9 girl student allegedly jumped off the roof of her school alleging harassment by the school authorities in Padmanabhapur village under Digapahandi block in Ganjam district.

As per reports, a girl named Anjali Pradhan, who was studying in Shridham Saraswati Vidya Mandir residential school suffered severe injuries in her leg after jumping off the terrace at around 2 PM late last night.

Later, upon hearing her screams, some local residents of the village woke up to help her. Subsequently, a youth named Shivananda Das forcibly took Anjali away on a bike.

Enraged over the youth's act and alleging negligence of the school authorities, the agitated villagers lodged an FIR with the police and later staged a protest by resorting to road blockade.
