Jeypore: The Class 9 student of a private English medium school in Semiliguda, who went missing on Sunday after being allegedly humiliated by the principal of the school, was found staying with his relatives.

On January 31, the principal of the school reportedly ordered to cut the hair of the student in front of other students and teachers over some disciplinary issue. The incident reportedly left Patnaik humiliated and he fled his home.

Later, Patnaik's family lodged a missing case with Semiliguda police. "We traced the boy today and he will be produced before the court soon," said Semiliguda SDPO, Niranjan Behera.

Behera further said that legal action will be taken against the principal of the school, following an investigation.

Meanwhile, School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Das said that police will conduct an inquiry into the matter as the student has now been traced.

"The missing student has already been found. His (Patnaik) statement is important. Action will be taken against the person responsible," he said.

The response of the principal couldn't be obtained.
