Claim over ownership of tree takes man's life

Keonjhar: A man allegedly beat his elder brother to death by hitting him with a wooden plank following a dispute regarding ownership of a Mahula tree in Keonjhar. The deceased has been identified as Jiten Ho.

The shocking incident has been reported from Marandisahi in Anandapur area of Keonjhar district.

According to reports, Jiten was attacked by his younger brother Samara after a heated altercation over the ownership of the tree on Saturday night.

Jiten’s wife and son also received critical injuries during their attempts to stop Samara. Both the injured are now undergoing treatment at Anandpur hospital.

On getting information, Anandpur Police along with a forensic team reached the village and initiated a probe into the matter. Meanwhile, the accused Samara is absconding after the incident.
