Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus II examinations, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), began across the State today. As many as 3,69,537 students are appearing at 1,091 examination centres across Odisha.

Today, students from Science and Commerce streams are appearing for the language paper.

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has made elaborate arrangements for the examinations, which will continue till March 30.

Amid tight security, question papers were taken to the examination centres from the Examination Management Hubs (EMHs) at 9:30 am. Besides, all the examination centres have been put under the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance.

As precautionary measures to check incidents of question papers getting shared on social media, the CHSE has banned a number of items in exam centres including wrist watches and mobiles.

Police security has been increased at exam centres in Maoist-prone areas. Almost all the examination centres have CCTV cameras, said an official of the council.
