Speaking to media, Kavita Behera, a Red Cross Volunteer who was present at the hospital said, “It is a case of gross negligence on the part of her parents. The incident happened inside our hospital premises. The parents can only take the child after obtaining permission from hospital authorities and due paperwork.”

However her father, who reached the hospital after some time denied any negligence on his part. He said, “I had gone inside the hospital for my ECG. There was a huge rush, so we decided to leave my child in the car.”

He further said, “My child suffers from occasional fits, so it wasn’t wise to take her into the crowd.”
