Chhatrapur Councillor murder case: HC gives interim relief to two BJP leaders

Cuttack: The High Court of Orissa today granted interim relief to BJP leaders Bhrugu Buxipatra and Golak Mohapatra in connection with the sensational murder of Chhatrapur Councillor Laxmidutta Pradhan in September 2017. The HC also ordered the police to file case diary in the case.

Information with regard to the case was shared by senior advocate Pitambar Acharya who is representing the BJP leaders.

Earlier on January 29, the Chhatrapur Police had issued notices to both Bhrugu Buxipatra and Golak Mohapatra to appear before it in connection with the case.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chhatrapur councillor from ward no 6, Laxmidutta Pradhan was brutally hacked to death in front of his residence on September 16, 2017. Following investigation, police had then arrested over 15 persons.
