Kendrapara: The officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday raided the fuel filling station registered in the name of Benazir Bibi, wife of arrested gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito in Kendrapara.

Acting on a warrant issued by the CBI court in Bhubaneswar, the officials of the central investigating agency raided the petrol pump and seized some documents.

Sources said the Special Task Force (STF) officials were also present during the raids.

Earlier in July last year, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry had sought a report from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) asking the latter to seek CBI’s intervention to investigate how the relatives of Tito managed to get the licences of a retail outlet in the name of Ms Sayed Brothers Filling Station at Badahat of Kendrapara Town and an ad-hoc dealership of COCO (Company Owned Company Retail Outlet) at Paradip Port Trust in Jagatsinghpur.

During the investigation, it was revealed that rules were flouted in allotment of petrol pump outlets to Tito’s relatives.

It may be noted that the CBI had been conducting searches at various places after the arrest of Tito to unearth his crime syndicate.
