Bhubaneswar/Bolangir: The Crime branch(CB) is exploring the latest digital forensic technology to gather evidences in the Patnagarh parcel bomb case.
The materials seized by CB during the course of investigation will be sent to different national and international scientific agencies to establish the involvement of Punjilal Meher, informed officials.
As per reports, Punjilal's laptop will be sent for retrieval of important data that was reportedly deleted by him after execution of the crime.
The CCTV footage collected from the DTDC courier service will be sent to Israel to confirm Punjilal's presence in the video recordings. Similarly the anonymous letter received by Police that was used to confuse the investigation process, will be sent to Gandhinagar's scientific laboratory.
"The letter is believed to be written by Punjilal who must have used his saliva to enclose it. The specimen will be sent for a DNA test," informed sources.
Earlier, on Thursday the Crime Branch officials took Punjilal on a six-day remand. Though the CB officials had prayed for a 14-day judicial custody, the SDJM court in Bolangir allowed only a remand of six days.
A team of senior CB officials have continued to grill Punjilal at the Bolangir Circuit House to extract more information about the execution of the crime and various other aspects in connection with the blast, sources said.
On Wednesday, Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra had revealed how Punjilal meticulously planned to wipe off the family of Sanjukta (Principal of Jyoti Vikash College at Bhainsa) and carried out the gory act single-handedly.
