Bhubaneswar: Throwing an open challenge to the Commissionerate Police, unidentified burglars decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh cash and other valuables from a private company located at Pallaspalli, a posh area in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the thieves broke into the premises of Sri Ram Traders, the private company, at around 2:45 am on Friday. They gained entry into the office by breaking open the gates of the company.

Though the miscreants have damaged a few CCTV cameras, the entire act of loot has been captured in other CCTV cameras installed at the office.

In the footage, three to four miscreants were seen searching the entire premises and looting Rs 1.5 lakh cash kept at a place and other valuables. The thieves have also decamped with cheque book and other valuables.

The burglars can be seen carrying sharp weapons, alleged the owner of the company who has raised questions on the security measures by the police especially during night hours.

“We are surprised how the miscreants were able to commit the theft. They have looted Rs 1.5 lakh cash and other valuables. We want police to properly investigate the case,” said owner of the office.

A team of Airfield police station have begun investigation into the incident.
