Businessman, Bodyguards Arrested For Celebratory Firing In Odisha

Puri: Days after a video of celebratory firing during a party in Baliasahi area of Puri went viral on social media, Town police arrested a businessman & his three security guards in connection with the incident.

As per reports, two bodyguards of Narayan Sahu alias Narua, a well-known businessman of Puri, fired seven rounds of bullets while dancing to the tune of a Haryanvi song during a party in Balisahi area. Sahu was also seen shaking a leg while holding the pistol.

Matter came to the fore after a video of the entire incident captured in a camera went viral on social media platforms a few days ago. However, the exact date when the video was shot is yet to be ascertained.

Sources said the private bodyguards of Narua identified as Papu, Bakur Kumar and Devendra Kumar are residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Police have seized two pistols and bullets from the possession of Narua and his bodyguards. As the use of such weapons in public is illegal, a case has been registered at Town Police Station in Puri.
