Balasore: At least seven persons were injured after a bus carrying migrants from Kerala met with an accident on NH 60 near Basta of Balasore district on Sunday. The accident occurred when a truck crashed into the rear of the bus at around 7:30 am today.

As per reports, the bus was on its way to Murshidabad in West Bengal when the mishap occurred. About 40 migrants were travelling in the bus.

All the seven injured have been admitted to Basta Community Health Centre (CHC) and their health condition was stated to be stable. Later, local administration has begun necessary transport arrangements to send back the migrants to West Bengal.

Earlier, seven people were injured after a bus ferrying West Bengal-bound migrants overturned in Balasore on Saturday. The bus was carrying migrant workers who were stuck in Kerala due to the nationwide lockdown, The bus reportedly carrying as many as 38 passengers was on its way to Kolkata when it skidded off the National Highway 16 and overturned near Balasore town.
