Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today published the results of 2019 annual class 10 (matric) examinations. Announcing the results, School and Mass Education Department secretary Pradipta Mohapatra informed that the pass percentage of the annual examination is at 70.78 per cent, which is over five per cent lower than last year's pass percentage of 76.23 per cent.
A total of 5, 61, 079 students had appeared the annual HSC examination out of which 3, 97,125 students have passed the test. Out of the students who passed the examination, 1,91,655 are male and 2,05,470 are female, informed Mohapatra.
1,181 students have been awarded grade-A1, 9,938 students got Grade A2 , B1-24,991 and 46,319 students have been graded under B2 category. Similarly, 76139 students have been graded under C category, Grade D-1,16,262, Grade E-1,22,062 and Grade F-1,63,954 students.
While 82 schools have recorded nil results, 289 schools have recorded cent percent results.
Out of the total 11,219 Open School students, 6,568 students have cleared the exam making the pass percentage 58.53. While no candidates have been categorised in grade A1, 21 students have been graded under B1 category, 297 students have been awarded Grade B2.

Under Madhyama stream, out of 3,563 students, 3,015 have come out successful in the examination making the pass percentage 84.62. No students have been awarded Grade A1 and Grade A2. 174 students have been awarded B1 and 883 students have been graded under B2 category.
In terms of district wise results, Koraput has recorded the lowest pass percentage of 50.61% while Jharsuguda has recorded the highest of 85.48%.
Following announcement of results, BSE president Jahan Ara Begum informed that the process of rechecking and re-addition of annual HSC exam marks will begin from May 24 and continue for a period of 10 days through online mode. Similarly, re-evaluation for Madhyama & State Open School Certificate Exam (SOSC) exams will be done in offline mode during the period.
Meanwhile, S&ME secretary Pradipta Mohapatra informed that from next year onwards, CCTV cameras will be installed at all the 2,900 centres in Odisha to keep a check on malpractice and other untoward incidents during the conduct of annual Matric examinations.

Students can check their results online from 11 AM onwards at the Board’s official website http://www.bseodisha.ac.in, http://www.bseodisha.nic.in.
Students can log on to the official websites to check their scores and download the marksheet.
Examinees have been advised to keep their details like their roll number ready, so they can sign into the Board’s official website as soon as the results are declared.
Those who do not have access to internet can get their results even in offline mode. Students need to type OR10<space>Roll Number and send it to 5676750. They will get an SMS in their mobile phones.
Around 5.87 lakh students had appeared for the annual Matric exam which was held from February 22 till March 8, 2019.
It may be noted that students and their parents were concerned about the timely declaration of Matric result in the wake of Cyclone Fani in Odisha on May 3. Keeping in view of situation, the Board authorities had earlier informed that the result would be declared in the 3rd week of May.

After the results were announced, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to twitter and congratulated all the students who passed the examination.
