Cuttack: Allaying the apprehensions of Class X students over delay in publication of annual HSC results, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) secretary Ramasish Hajra today informed that the exam results will be declared in the third week of this month. However, Hajra refused to divulge the exact date on which the results will be announced.

The delay in publication of the Matriculation results is due to the efforts to make it error-free, the BSE secretary added. The Matric results 2018 were announced by the Board on May 7 last year.

While addressing mediapersons, BSE President Jahanara Begum said "The result will be published in the third week of this month and the board is in the final stages of completing the evaluation process."

"We are verifying all the information and will publish the result error-free for which we would request media persons not to spread confusing news in this regard," she added.

"Preparation for publishing the result is in the final stages, however, no exact date has been decided," said BSE secretary Ramasish Hajra.

The evaluation process is complete and the verification is underway. The delay in publication of the Matriculation results is due to disruption of power supply and internet connectivity post cyclone Fani, Harja added.

Students and their parents were apprehensive about the Matric result delay in the wake of slow pace of restoration work following Cyclone Fani that hit Odisha on May 3.

Around 5.87 lakh students had appeared for the annual Matric exam which began on February 22.
