Brothers Swept Away in Rushikulya: One body recovered from banks today

Ganjam: A pall of gloom descended on Bhimpur village under Purusottampur block here after body of one of the two siblings who were swept away in the Rushikulya River yesterday was found floating on the river bank this morning.

As per sources, Subham Pradhan (13) along with his elder brother Sangram (17), identified to be the sons of one Gautam Pradhan of the village, drowned while taking bath in the river yesterday.

Though the fire brigade personnel launched a search operation, they were unable to trace the bodies. However, a few locals found Subham's body floating on the river bank at around 9 am this morning.

Soon after getting information, fire brigade officials and police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

While efforts are still on to trace the elder brother’s body, palpable tension erupted in the village as locals alleged that the district administration has not provided any assistance in connection with the incident.
