Youth's body found in Cuttack, murder suspected

Cuttack: Mystery shrouds the death of a 28-year-old youth whose body was recovered from under Birupa bridge under Choudwar police limits here in the wee hours on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Nirjhara Behera of Kapaleswar area in Choudwar. It is suspected that Behera has been brutally killed as the body carries injury marks at several places.

According to reports, Behera had left home after getting a phone call around 11:30 pm yesterday. Despite several attempts, the family members could not contact him as his mobile phone was switched off.

Sources said, Behera’s marriage was scheduled to be held on January 10.

Though the exact reason behind Behera’s brutal murder is still unclear, police have started investigation into the incident.

The body has already been sent for autopsy while Behera’s friends are being questioned in connection with the case.
