Youth wanted in Tamando firing incident nabbed

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police today arrested Bapi Patnaik, the prime accused in the Tamando firing incident in which a youth was killed on the outskirts of the city on March 15.

The deceased identified as Abhijit Behera was alleged shot at by Bapi and four others over suspected past rivalry.

A special team including special squad of the Commissionerate police managed to nab Bapi from Paradip. A firearm and two rounds of live ammunition have been recovered from his possession.

Earlier, police had arrested three family members including parents of accused Bapi under section 302, 301, 341, 323, 294, 506 and 34 of IPC.

“The prime accused in the firing has been arrested and earlier three persons were arrested in connection with the case.  Our investigation in the case is still open,” said Police Commissioner, Y.B.Khurania.
