Youth slips down waterfall while posing for picture

Koraput: A youth sustained critical injuries after he slipped 50-feet down a waterfall while posing for photograph in Potangi block of Koraput district.

The injured- Subrat Nag who had sustained serious injury on his head and legs, was rescued by fellow picnickers. He was admitted to the Pottangi Community Health Centre (CHC)  first and later shifted to the Koraput district headquarters hospital (DHH) after his condition deteriorated.

The incident took place when Subrat along with his friends had gone to the Rati Bali waterfall at Gali Gabdar in Potangi block.He asked a friend to click his picture from atop the waterfall.

"We saw him moving toward the edge of the fall to strike a pose when suddenly he stepped on a slippery bedrock and went crashing down," informed eyewitnesses. The entire incident was caught on a camera.

The patient has sustained injuries in his head and legs but his condition is stable now, informed doctors.Subrat is a resident of Kalahandi district and employed at the Meena Bazar shopping arcade.
