Youth paraded on knees for making obscene gestures at girl in Utkal Univ

Bhubaneswar: A youth was reportedly forced to walk on his knees till the police station for allegedly making obscene gestures at a girl student of Utkal University here. The matter came to the fore after a video of the incident went viral.

According to information, the accused was passing indecent remarks at the girl near hostel, when some fellow students reached the spot and detained him. Later, they forced him to walk on his knees all the way to police station. The girl complained that the youth had been eve-teasing her for a while.  

Acting on her complaint, police detained the youth identified as Susant Sethi, a resident of Bhoi Nagar in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, students have expressed their resentment over laxity in security at the girls' hostel for which outsiders cause such nuisance inside the campus.
