Rourkela: In a shocking incident, a youth brutally beat death his own friend for allegedly passing lewd comments to his girlfriend in Jalda area in Rourkela. The deceased has been identified as Paklu Oram.
Police have detained three persons including the prime accused Ajay Lohar, Rohan Kumbhar and Shankar Tudu.
According to reports, Paklu was beaten up by the trio after he made some derogatory remarks against Ajay’s girlfriend on Thursday night.
In a bid to take revenge, Ajay had called Paklu to an isolated place near a school in the morning. Later, Ajay and two of his friends allegedly attacked Paklu with iron rods and crushed him to death with a stone.
Police and forensic experts visited the spot and later detained Ajay and two of his friends-Rohan and Shankar in connection with the incident.
The body of Paklu was recovered today from an isolated place some two kms from a local school. The family alleged that Paklu was murdered by his friends who had earlier asked him out from house yesterday.
“The body carries multiple injuries and based on the complaint that Paklu had not returned home, a case was registered and subsequently three have been detained,” said Manas Swain, a police officer.
