Youth killed in elephant attack in Bargarh

Bargarh: In a saddening incident, a youth was killed in an attack by a wild pachyderm in Chhindrapali village under Gaisilat  block of Bargarh while trying to save younger brother from being trampled by the animal on Friday.

Trilochan Bariha along with two siblings, Sahido and Gajendra, who had gone to the nearby Mahadasani forest in search of their cattle had an encounter with the pachyderm.

Trilochan hid younger brother Sahido behind him and faced the enraged jumbo and subsequently got killed in the wild animal's attack.

The deceased's siblings saved themselves from the elephant attack by climbing a tree and spent the whole night atop it. They were rescued by their family members in the morning on Saturday who reached the spot in search of the trio.
