Youth kidnapped, tortured over father’s business rivalry

Berhampur: A youth was abducted and tortured allegedly by unidentified miscreants at Gudiapalli village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district.

The matter came to light after the youth managed to escape four days after being kidnapped and narrated his ordeal in front of his family members, who later lodged a police complaint in this connection on Sunday.

Sources said Ajay Sahu, son of Pradeep Sahu, of Gudiapalli village went missing on March 14, following which his family members had filed a complaint at the Kabisuryanagar police station. However, Ajay returned to his house on Sunday and alleged that he was kidnapped by some miscreants and tortured physically during captivity. The boy also has several injury marks on his body.

Later, Ajay’s family members lodged a complaint at Kabisuryanagar police station. Ajay further alleged that the kidnap might be a fallout of business rivalry between his father and the miscreants.

Meanwhile, police officials were not available to comment on the matter.
