Youth dies in road mishap, locals block Bhadrak-Chandbali road

Bhadrak: Vehicular movement on the Bhadrak-Chandbali main road was disrupted on Saturday following a demonstration by locals protesting the death of a youth in a road accident near Baharpal village in Bhadrak district Friday.

Irate locals staged the demonstration by placing the body of the youth Chinmay Pallai on the road and burning tyres demanding compensation for the family members.

Chinmay was injured after he was hit by a speeding vehicle coming from Chandbali side. Though Chinmay was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Following the road blockade, several vehicles were seen stranded on both sides of the road.

Meanwhile, police reached the spot and efforts were on to pacify the mob till reports last came in.
