Bhubaneswar: Members of the Odisha Youth Congress condemned Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday for making disrespectful statements on the Indian Army.

"Our armed forces are guiding our nation. Such statements against them is shameful. We want that the RSS chief to apologies to the country and the armed forces," said a youth Congress activist.

Youth Congress president Loknath Maharathy said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi was once a full time RSS cadre. So it becomes all the more important for him to take action against the RSS chief for making such statements. We strongly condemn it. “

As per sources, the youth Congress on Thursday staged a demonstration at Master Canteen and burnt effigies of Bhagwat and  PM Modi in protest.

The RSS Chief  at a gathering in Muzaffarpur on Sunday compared the organization's worker to the army and said "If situation arises and the Constitution permits, Indian Army would take six months to prepare, whereas Sangh Swayamsevaks can be trained in three days, as Swayamsevaks practice discipline regularly."
