Bhubaneswar: Odisha Youth Congress president Rajat Choudhary resigned from his post after being repeatedly questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam over the past couple of days.

Senior Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra confirmed Rajat's resignation saying "I received the resignation from Rajat who said that he was not involved but is resigning on moral grounds as allegations have surfaced."

Rajat appeared before the CBI for the fifth time today. Sources said that Rajat was questioned by the CBI today and was asked to appear once again with the required documents.

Yesterday as well, Rajat was questioned by the CBI for over three hours. Rajat’s wife also appeared before the CBI.

Rajat had appeared before the CBI in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam earlier too.

Commenting on the resignation, Odisha Congress Chief said "There are many members of the ruling BJD who are involved in the Chit fund. BJD is not taking action against minister Dasburma despite a CBI notice has been served to him."
