Youth beaten up, tied to electric pole during loot attempt

Kendrapara: A youth was beaten black and blue by villagers of Jagannathpur under Patkura police limits in Kendrapara district after he was caught red-handed while attempting to loot a house along with his two aides last night.

After beating the youth mercilessly, the villagers also dragged him and tied him to an electric pole. Later, the police rescued him this morning and is interrogating him.

Sources said the three youths attempted to loot valuables from a house by breaking open grills of its gate. Getting information, the villagers chased the trio and managed to nab one of them.
