Youth arrested for impregnating, ditching minor girl

Gajapati: A youth of Sorada village under Raigarh police limits in Gajapati district was arrested for ditching a minor girl after having physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage.

As per information, the youth identified as Raju Gouda had lured a minor girl to have physical relationship by making false promise to marry her. But after knowing about her pregnancy, the accused forced the girl for abortion. Later, the youth fled the village.

The girl later brought the matter before her family members, following which they lodged a police complaint.

"A special team was set up to trace Raju and he was arrested from Hyderabad under case 64/2017. Gouda has confessed to his crime. He will be produced before the court today," Paralakhemundi SDPO Thakur Patra said.
